CITY OF CRANSTON NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATIONAL MEETING

Major Subdivision - Master Plan

You are hereby notified that the Cranston City Plan Commission will meet to review the Master Plan for a proposed Major Subdivision entitled “Briarwood Estates”.  This public informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 6:30 P.M., in the City Council Chamber on the third floor of Cranston City Hall, 869 Park Avenue.

This proposed subdivision will create twelve (12) additional lots on two parcels designated as Assessor’s Plat 18, Lots 1023 and 1026.  Lot 1023 is owned by Leonard A. Reali and Carol Reali and is located at 1375 New London Avenue.  Lot 1026 is owned by Edward Pelli and is located at 1365 New London Avenue.  The applicant is Universal Realty, LLC.  The existing parcels of land contain 252, 352 +/- square feet.  The parcels are zoned A-8 residential for single-family dwellings. 

The applicant proposes to retain the two existing houses at 1365 and 1375 New London Avenue.  The remaining acreage will be subdivided into twelve (12) new residential lots for single-family dwellings. See proposed site plan snippet on the back of this page.  The housing units will be serviced by public water and sewer.  The proposed subdivision is a use allowed by-right within the Cranston Zoning Code.

All interested parties are invited to attend this public informational meeting at which plans will be presented for public comment and City Plan Commission review.  Plans for these applications are available at the Planning Department, Cranston City Hall, Room 309, between 8:30 A.M.–4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday, except for holidays. Prior to the public meeting, the City’s staff memo/recommendation and other project materials will be posted to the City’s Planning Department webpage when available.

Pursuant to the Cranston Subdivision and Land Development Regulations, the proposed plan may be revised by the City Plan Commission as a result of further study or because of views expressed at this meeting. Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired should contact the Planning Department at 780-3222, seventy-two (72) hours prior to the meeting date.
