Feb. 19, URI Pharmacy Outreach Program, the Cranston Senior Enrichment is hosting a workshop on hearing loss on Wed. at 10 a.m. at 1070 Cranston St.

Feb. 21, Cranston Senior Enrichment Center is hosting a workshop on understanding “required minimum distribution,” at 10 a.m., provided by New York Life.

Feb. 21, A Personal Journey, Nurse Marylou Pearson will be hosting a session taking you through her experience with Lasik surgery. The session will be held on Wed. at 10 a.m. at the Cranston Senior Enrichment Center.

Feb. 22, Famous Polish Food Sale, Our Lady of Czestochowa will be hosting a food sale on Sat. from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (or as long as the food lasts) at 222 MacArthur Blvd., Coventry RI. Sale held in school auditorium.

Feb. 25, Homemade Pasta Cooking Class, the Cranston Senior Enrichment Center will be hosting a pasta making class at 10 a.m. Space is limited! Register now by calling 401-780-6000.  Be sure to bring with you a container to bring your pasta creation home with you.

Feb. 26, RI Materials Recycling Facility Tour & Presentation, the Cranston Senior Enrichment is hosting a “Inside Look at How RI Waste is Managed,” event on Wed. at 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Depart from the Center at 8:45 a.m. Space is limited.  Must register by February 19th.  To register call Paula at 401-780-6178.

Mar. 1, Asbury UMC will be hosting a charity event at Top Golf’s Cranston location t 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Pro's and beginners welcome to join in this Asbury UMC charity event to raise funds for AED pads for children. Mar. 7, Free Balance Screening, the Cranston Senior Enrichment Center will be hosting a free balance screening at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Individuals that use a walker, cane, or other assisted device are welcome to participate. For more information or to register call 401- 874-4025 or 401-432-7217.

Mar. 8, Women’s History Month event – Miss Julia “Kitty” Lippitt Mauran will be presented by the Hope Historical Society on Sat., Mar. 8 at 2 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Howland Barn on 35 Ryefield Rd., in Hope, RI.

Mar. 12, “Songbirds on The Pawtuxet,” Edgewood Garden Club will host an Open Meeting in the William Hall Library Auditorium on 1825 Broad St., Birder and conservation volunteer Doug Wilson will discuss colorful birds observed along the river and more. Free event open to the public. Social time, 6:30 p.m., and program at 7 p.m.

Wickford Art Festival Artist Applications Now Open North Kingstown, RI – The Wickford Art Association (WAA) is excited to announce that artist applications for the 62nd annual Wickford Art Festival are now open. The outdoor art festival will take place on the weekend of July 12 & 13, 2025. Now through March 15, artists are invited to submit their applications to be considered for participation in this event. Artists interested in applying can visit the official festival website at www.wickfordart.org for more details. Applications will be reviewed by a jury panel, and selected artists will be notified in early April 2025.

Every Monday through Friday, Virtual Dementia Caregiver Support Groups are specifically designed for people caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Cranston Senior Enrichment Center will be providing chair exercise classes from 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. This FREE exercise class can strengthen everything from the core muscles and the glutens to the lower and upper back, the legs, and the arms.  Come by and try it!

Every Monday through Thursday – Cranston Senior Enrichment Center will be offering Tech-Help at 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Whether you are having computer questions or experiencing issues with your phone, iPad etc.  Need help with your Portals or need to order Free Covid test kits?  They can assist with that as well. 

Every Tuesday and Thursday – Cranston Senior Enrichment Center will be providing medication reviews from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Mary McKenna, our CVS Pharmacist, is available to review and discuss your medications with you. Every First and Third Monday Rhode Island Active Toastmasters meets, serving both Rhode Island and Southern MA. Every Tuesday – Cranston Senior Enrichment Center will be offering an evidence-based workshop on “Tools for Healthy Living,” starting Mar. 4 at 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and ending April 8. PSA Free Gun Locks at Cranston & Warwick Public Libraries Secure storage of weapons is now the law in Rhode Island. A Free Gun Lock and Securing Weapons Safely information is now available at two locations: Cranston Central Library Reference Desk, 140 Sockanosset Cross Rd. Cranston, Warwick Central Library Reference desk, 600 Sandy Ln., Warwick. Stop by for a free gun lock and literature on how to securely store weapons. Oaklawn Grange Used Clothing Donation Shed in need of used clothing items at the Oaklawn Grange Donation Shed, 24 Searle Ave., Cranston. Accepted items only: Used Clothing, Shoes, Sneakers, Belts, Purses, Linens, Pillowcases, Blankets, Curtains, and Stuffed Animals. All items must be in useable condition. NAMI-RI Offers Family Support Groups; the RI chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness offers free support groups for families and friends of loved ones struggling with mental health. Groups are led by trained facilitators with experience with family members. Meetings last 1.5 hours, and everyone gets a chance to share. Group members offer help and resources, when appropriate, based on their experiences. More information and full schedule can be found at namirhodeisland.org. or call 401-331-3060. No pre-registration for these monthly groups is necessary.
