Meals on Wheels of RI

Social Security: Understanding Your Benefits

Questions about Social Security? Do you understand how social security works? Do you know the difference between full, early, and delayed benefits? Kinga Arias, Public Affairs Specialist with the Social Security office, will be available to answer your questions on social security.

Farmers’ Market Transvan Trip

Goddard Park Farmers’ Market – Friday, July 19

Fresh produce and local foods! Sign up now with Transvan to secure a ride. Will leave the center at 9:00 a.m. Transvan will stop for you to buy a take-out-lunch on the way back to the center. Sign up in the Transvan office or call 401-780-6220.

Aerobic Exercise Classes

Mondays & Wednesdays – 10 a.m.

Fee: $3

What are the benefits of aerobic exercise? Aerobic exercise provides cardiovascular conditioning, decreases risk of heart disease, lowers blood pressure, increases HDL or “good” cholesterol, helps to better manage sugar, and decreases resting heart rate.

Modified Yoga at the Center

Wednesdays Beginning Aug. 7, ending Sept. 11

Provided by: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island

We are thrilled to invite you to participate in this FREE Yoga class sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island. This six week class is designed with a modified approach to Yoga. Come and try it! Bring your mat and bring a friend. This is a six-week trial period with the hope that with steady attendance we can extend the class for the remainder of the year. Senior Golf Tournament

8:30 a.m. shot gun start & a best ball format

Entry Fee $100 per person (non-refundable)

Entry fee will include: 18 holes of golf with a cart, continental breakfast, lunch and a banquet immediately following the tournament in the Cranston Country Club Banquet Facility. Application requests or if you have any questions please call Steve Craddock at 780-6189.
