Rhode Island has already administered nearly 130,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, but there’s still a long way to go. This is a challenge unlike any other we have faced, and we’re putting in place the systems and processes to get it done safely, quickly, and with a focus on equity. I’m grateful for the hard work of the Department of Health, National Guard, and so many others in making this a reality.

I had the opportunity yesterday to visit the state-run vaccination site in Cranston and to see firsthand the thorough and efficient operation set up by the National Guard.

I also joined Lieutenant Governor Dan McKee for a Facebook Live event yesterday to address some of the most common questions we’ve received about the vaccine. We asked Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott and Dr. Jim McDonald of the Department of Health your questions and got some great answers. We're continuously working to improve our vaccine operation and keep you and your family safe. Our numbers are trending in the right direction. Let’s stay vigilant, wear our masks, get tested often, and do everything we can to protect our households as we work to put COVID-19 behind us.
