On Friday, Cranston Police helped escort a local two-year-old to the hospital for cancer treatment.
Cranston Police posted photos online from the escort, which also included representatives from the Cranston Fire Department and police officers from departments in Providence, East Providence, North Providence and Pawtucket, as well as Rhode Island State Police troopers, and Cranston Mayor Ken Hopkins.
According to Cranston Police, the public safety officers “provided a hero’s escort for 3-year-old Aspen to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.”
“Aspen completed (two years) of treatment today (Nov. 10) for leukemia, which included a marrow transplant,” according to the Cranston Police post. “Enzo’s Escorts is a statewide police & fire organization in Rhode Island, which offers RI children VIP escorts to and/or from their home on their last day of cancer treatment. For the past 3 years, Enzo’s Escorts has provided over 30 children escorts on their final day of treatment for cancer! For more information visit Enzo’s Escort on Facebook.”
Cranston Police had one last message for the young patient: “Good luck Aspen!”
