Jeannette A. Cardi

Jeannette A. (Capistran) Cardi, 89, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at home.  She was the beloved wife of the late Alphonse B. Cardi, Jr.  Born in Montreal Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Eugene H. and Marie L. (Sorel) Capistran.  She then settled in the United States in 1944.
Jeannette worked as a cashier at Stop & Shop in Cranston for over 20 years.  She was a Chairwoman for Troop 1 Oaklawn, Boy Scouts of America of the Narragansett Council.  She was in the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.  Also, a member of the Framingham Heart Study, and previously worked at the former Oaklawn Pharmacy.  Jeannette cared for many family members, and had an artistic eye for grooming poodles and creating needlepoint.
She was the loving mother of Donna A. Cardi of Cranston, Alphonse B. Cardi, III and his wife Paula of Cranston, Felicita A. George and her husband Alfred of Cranston, and the late Anthony P. Cardi; cherished grandmother of Stephanie, Nicholas, Holly, A. Blaise IV, Anthony, Alexandra, Tayla, and great grandmother of 1; dear sister of Yvette A. Gagne of Framingham, MA, and the late Maurice E. Capistran, John J. Capistran, Marie P. Lee, and her twin sister Jeannine M. Smith.
Relatives and friends attended her Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston.  Burial took place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.
