Robert William MacNaught, died Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Houston Methodist Hospital after a valiant, six-month battle with cholangiocarcinoma.
Born in Warwick, RI, on April 6,1981, Rob was the beloved son of Kenneth and Carol Lee MacNaught. He excelled academically and athletically at Toll Gate High School, and later graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Economics. A proud member of Alpha Delta Phi, he maintained friendships with his brothers. Rob enjoyed a distinguished career as a commodities trader, most recently with Millennium Management.
Rob was a devoted husband to Ha Le and a loving father to their two daughters, Molly (7) and Madeline (5). He was passionate about sports, especially the Boston teams. He enjoyed playing golf, a good game of poker, and travel with his family. Rob was known for his generosity and vibrant presence, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife and daughters, Rob is survived by his parents and two sisters, Heather Stahl (Eli) of New York City and Malinda Jacob (Ryan) of Coventry, RI, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church of East Greenwich, 1558 South County Trail, East Greenwich, RI, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, 5526 West 13400 South, #510, Herriman, UT 84096.
