On July 30, Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island delivered its 19-millionth meal to 88-year-old Joseph Brisson at his home in Cranston.
Brisson is a widower and Korean War veteran who lives with Alzheimer's disease. In addition to enjoying his Salmon Florentine, Brisson welcomed the company and took part in a lively discussion about his time in Korea.
Delivering the meal were Rose Amoros Jones, director of the state’s Office of Healthy Aging; Meghan Grady, executive director of Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island; Kevin Millonzi, board chairman for Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island; and Rebecca Keister, the organization’s development and public relations specialist.
