Wednesday, April 10 at 10 a.m.URI SNAP-Ed programOsteopenia is the mid-point between healthy bones and having osteoporosis. What can be done to keep bones strong and dense and prevent osteoporosis? Learn the difference between both conditions and how to maintain healthy bones.

URI SNAP Outreach Clinic Introduction to ‘A Journey to Relaxation’

Shahnee Lagor shadowed Nurse Marylou in 2014. She is currently working as a surgical nurse at The Miriam Hospital. She is a member of the hospital-wide Pain Resource Committee, which specializes in pain management. She is Reiki certified and will be offering her expertise as part of a bimonthly meditation and relaxation series. Join us for the introduction and explanation to the series, which will begin in May.

Making Cranston Dementia Friendly: Understanding the Dementia Journey

Wednesday, May 8 and Wednesday, May 15 at 7 p.m.This two-part series begins Wednesday, May 8, at 7 p.m. with “The Basics: Age-Related Memory Loss, Alzheimer’s Disease & Other Dementias.” Dr. Lori Daiello of the Alzheimer’s Disease & Memory Disorders Center at Rhode Island Hospital will speak, while a woman wrestling with Alzheimer’s will discuss her personal journey. The series continues Wednesday, May 15, at 7 p.m. with “A Caregiver’s Journey: The Emotional & Physical Impact of Caregiving.” Presented will include caregivers from the community and Annie Murphy of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Rhode Island chapter.
