Preliminary Plan

You are hereby notified that the Cranston City Plan Commission will meet to review the Preliminary Plan for a proposed major land development for a solar farm entitled “Natick Avenue Solar”.  This public hearing will be held on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. via a Zoom teleconference.

The subject parcel is located off of Natick Avenue, Assessor’s Plat 22, Lots 108 and 119.  The property owner is Ronald Rossi and the applicant is Natick Solar LLC, 117 Metro Center Boulevard, Suite 1007, Warwick, RI 02886.  The property is zoned A-80.

Together Lots 108 and 119 comprise approximately 64 acres.  The applicant proposes to develop, install and operate an approximate 8.1 megawatt (dc) ground mounted solar energy farm on an area of approximately 23 acres.

The proposed major land development project is a use allowed by-right within the Cranston Zoning Code and is consistent with the goals and policies of the Cranston Comprehensive Plan. 

All are invited attend this virtual public hearing at which time plans will be presented for public comment and City Plan Commission consideration. The application and supplemental materials will be posted and updated as necessary on the City’s website at:

Prior to the public hearing meeting, the staff memo/recommendation and slide presentation will be posted to the City’s webpage when available. If you are unable to access the internet, you can contact the Cranston Planning Department directly at 401-780-3222 to request paper copies be mailed directly to you. 

Pursuant to the Cranston Subdivision and Land Development Regulations, the proposed plan may be revised by the City Plan Commission as a result of further study or because of views expressed at this meeting. Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired should contact the Planning Department at 461-1000 ext. 3136, seventy-two (72) hours prior to the meeting date.
