The Cranston West girls basketball team is in the middle of a midseason skid and dropped its seventh straight decision to Portsmouth on Monday. The Patriots held off the Falcons in a 37-25 win.
West was led by Kyla Buco with 10 points scored while Nicole Silvestri added eight in the loss. West will be taking on Bay View on Thursday in Providence.
BOYS BASKETBALL
East 62, Hope 34
The Bolts picked up another win by beating Hope last week on the road.
Alex Fernandez and Mohammed Gueye led the charge for East by scoring 14 points each. Cesarr Valerio also scored 13 points in the win as well.
BOYS HOCKEY
Cranston 5, Narragansett/Chariho 4
The Falcons stayed sharp by topping Nariho last week in a pivotal Division II showdown.
Cranston fell behind 3-1, but went on to score four unanswered goals to wrap up the win. Devin DeAngelis led the way with a hat trick while Jacob Bovay and Aidan Fowler also scored goals. Bovay and Brady Scnalon each recorded three assists while Jack Fontaine added another. Goalie Bryce Crance finished with 21 stops in net.
