To the Editor,
I was glad to have the chance to read the messages of congratulation and encouragement offered to members of the Class of 2024(Supplement to the Beacon, June 27). But I was disappointed to find that none of those inspirational messages addressed the importance of getting married and raising a family.
I wish someone had told the graduates about the benefits marriage can bring to leading a happy and fulfilling life. That is not to say that marriage is right for everyone, but for most people getting married and having children is the best and boldest thing anyone can do.
In her message to the graduates, Warwick School Superintendent Lynn Dambruch urged them to “Explore. Dream. Discover.” To those laudable exhortations I would add: And get married. You’ll be glad you did.
