I was pleased to read Pres. Hughes’ recent thoughts about CCRI’s future (CCRI Rebounds In Wake of Pandemic, Feb.23).  In her speech to the Warwick Rotarians she talked about the excellent programs the college offers, such as the workforce partnerships in health care and industrial technology, as well as a future program involving offshore wind.

I was saddened, however, by the fact that there was no mention whatever of the fine arts, such as music, art, drama, etc.  Will they not be an integral part of CCRI’s future?  Hopefully not, as they provide countless benefits to students educationally, culturally, and emotionally.
