Survey, seeks input on ARPA funds

Posted

The City of Cranston’s Administration, in conjunction with the Cranston City Council, announced on March 7 that it has launched a survey with the goal of acquiring continued input from the community on prioritizing the City’s use of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

Council members hosted two special Finance Committee meetings in the month of February to discuss the goals of ARPA and receive feedback from the community. The City’s Administration also received approval by the Council to conduct a professional poll regarding how residents would like ARPA funds spent.

“Throughout this pandemic, Cranston has shown that we are resilient and that we can recover if we work together,” said Mayor Ken Hopkins. “Now we want to hear from our residents, business owners, and stakeholders on how they would like to see us prioritize ARPA funds to build the future of our city.”

“I applaud Councilwoman Renzulli and Councilwoman Vargas for taking the lead on engaging the public through a survey. I implore our community to join the conversation, fill out the survey, and share it with others,” Hopkins said.

Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (CSLFRF) will help Cranston address the negative economic consequences of the pandemic and provide the necessary resources for a solid economic and social recovery from the pandemic.

The survey is currently available to the public until March 25, 2022, and can be found at www.cranstonri.gov/arpa-survey.
