Trump Derangement Syndrome?

Posted

To the Editor,

Poor Lonnie Barham is showing the telltale signs of Trump Derangement Syndrome(TDS). This condition, characterized by an irrational, yet intense, dislike for all things Donald Trump, renders an individual unable to think clearly and make critical distinctions.

In his recent letter, Mr. Barham describes himself as “a lifetime conservative”. But he undermines that claim by suggesting he might choose a communist candidate from California over Donald Trump for president (“Debacle of a debate”, Sept. 19). No conservative in their right mind would do that.

Mr. Barham watched the presidential debate but missed the useful lessons to be learned from it. That’s because TDS creates a blind spot that makes a person easy to be fooled.

Barham couldn’t see how completely Kamala Harris came across as an empty vessel; an automaton programmed by her handlers to strike poses and repeat lies about Donald Trump. She dodged any questions that might reveal the truly radical, anti-American nature of her politics and expose the myriad failures of the Biden/Harris Administration.

During the debate, Harris did give a “reasonable parroting” of the Democrats’ effort to demonize Donald Trump. But she offered nothing specific about what she plans to do if elected president.

The debate demonstrated there is nothing substantive about this cackling chameleon, Kamala Harris. Like her ever changing accents, she’s as phony as a three dollar bill. A man of Lonnie Barham’s wide experience would normally be able to discern that.

Fortunately, there is hope for those afflicted with TDS. But staying home on Election Day, as Mr. Barham suggests, won’t help.

Anyone experiencing TDS should summon up their courage and seek recovery by getting out and voting for Donald Trump in November. That would be the most therapeutic and, especially for our friend Mr. Barham, the most conservative thing to do.
