To the Editor,
I wanted to share some of the pictures I captured at Saturday's Great Race send off. What a great event this was! What a crowd there was!!
When the send off ceremony started - the atmosphere was incredible! It was fun watching the Mayor and Councilman Ladourceur greet each car, welcome them to Warwick and wish them well on their trip and good luck in the race!
I felt like we were back in time at Rocky Point - the last time that many vintage vehicles were there all at the same time was probably when Rocky Point was in its heyday!
The yellow 1933 Ford truck pictured is from Illinois and not only displayed our American flag, but also the RI State flag - I thought that was great! The driver and navigator were a father & son team, Jeff & Eric Fredette, from Illinois and they won the Great Race back in 2018.
