Looks like there's nothing to this after all.
From WPRI:
Reached by phone Friday evening, Cote said he had never actually euthanized an animal.
"Never, that's ridiculous," he said. "That's outrageous."
When asked if he actually trapped more than 200 animals over the course of one summer, Cote said he had captured those animals over "a couple of summers," not just one as he had testified.
He also said he had released all of the animals back into the wild
