I was not surprised to learn that nationally there was a record low turn out for this mid-term election. There is a dangerous trend on both the Left and Right to dismiss the quintessential democratic concept of MAJORITY RULE. Both sides are secretly content with the low turn out because they have a gut fear best described as " tyranny of the majority ". An educated, informed public has far less potential for political evil than an ignorant, deceived, manipulated public.

I could not in good conscience vote for any of the three candidates for governor of Rhode Island. But Bob Healey was indeed therapeutic ( with a remarkable 22% of the vote ) . My political values are rather well expressed by Catholic social philosophy. So I put a WRITE IN vote here in Cranston for Mother Teresa. Was it recorded ? The next two years might be an ideal time for much scorned third parties. I don't regret voting for Ralph Nader for president of the United States.
