State Reps. Robert Lancia (R- District 16, Cranston) and Robert Nardolillo (R-District 28, Coventry) announced that they recently raised $887 for The Samaritans of RI following their “Bow Ties Against Bullying” campaign.
The Samaritans of RI provides educational programs about bully awareness and prevention.
“We’ve read about the prevalence of bullying and its aftermath – from teen suicides to patterns of domestic abuse,” Lancia said. “By supporting the work of The Samaritans, we know that Rhode Island will be one step closer to teaching our kids acceptable ways to interact while building their self-esteem. ‘Bow Ties Against Bullying’ was a simple way for Rep. Nardolillo and I to seek support from the House of Representatives for The Samaritans great work.”
“We pledged to donate $10 to The Samaritans for every legislator, staff member or page who wore a bow tie or scarf on March 19. We welcomed donations from our colleagues in the State House,” Nardolillo said. “I am very pleased that The Samaritans of RI will receive our donation of $887.” (Submitted photo)
