The Cranston West girls’ volleyball team fought all the way to the Division II finals, and Emilia Vaziri was the most important component in the middle.
Vaziri was a selection for the Division II-South First Team while helping the Falcons to a 3-1 playoff record. West rolled past Burrillville and Lincoln in the opening rounds before beating East Greenwich in five sets.
The Falcons’ season came to an end at Rhode Island College, though, as undefeated state champion Barrington took the crown.
Vaziri will have another crack at a championship next year when she returns for her senior season.
