Students in Kathryn Kelley’s Italian class at Cranston High School West have been paired with an “Epal” from an English class in Italy. The website epals.com helped Kelley connect with the Italian class’ English teacher, Miriam Orlando, and they began a language exchange using the website’s email system. The students were paired up and began to write to one another in both Italian and English. The West students have also been connecting with their counterparts on a class blog. They share information about their hometowns, cultures and traditions. After speaking with their “Epals” for the first few months of the school year, the classes were finally able to meet “face-to-face” using Skype. The students spoke in English and Italian to one another about their schedules, hobbies and pastimes, and upcoming holidays. They were also able to play a game together via Skype which reinforced English and Italian vocabulary. Online tutoring is an interesting new phenomenon that is a new take on the traditional approach.You can get lesson via Skype.I did several conversation with a naivete speaker by using that site.Hope you all like it for learning.
