A Public Hearing will be heard before the Safety Services & Licenses Committee on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. Cranston Council Chambers, City Hall, 869 Park Avenue, City Hall, Cranston, R.I. pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Charter on the following proposed Ordinance.

“Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must notify the City Clerk’s Office at 461-1000 ext. 3197 seventy-two (72) hours in advance of the hearing date.”

PROPOSED ORDINANCE

NO. 8-13-02 N AMENDMENT OF TITLE 5.64 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON, 2005, ENTITLED “THEATRICAL

PERFORMANCES, SHOWS AND EXHIBITIONS”

(Public Entertainment)

The proposed Ordinance defines the classes of entertainment permits. It clearly sets forth the standards and requirements for applying and renewing an entertainment permit. It sets forth in detail the specific documents which must be submitted for an entertainment permit.

This proposed Ordinance clearly sets out standards to be applied when considering a permit approval and renewal and also details the types of restrictions that can be imposed on an entertainment permit to mitigate health, safety and welfare concerns. It also succinctly sets forth the procedures and standards governing the revocation and/or suspension of an entertainment permit.

The proposed Ordinance sets forth a reasonable appeal process that delineates the rights and processes to guide the City in handling appeals of decisions of the Safety Services Committee.
