Members of the Cranston West class of 1964 – the first to complete six grades at the school – celebrated their 50th reunion this past weekend at the Alpine Country Club. The event had a Beatles theme to mark the 50th anniversary of the legendary band’s arrival in the U.S. Dianne Golini, a former member of the Cranston City Council and School Committee, headed the reunion committee along with Cathi Corrente. There were 183 students in the graduating class. On the day before their reunion, members of the class took a tour of Cranston West, led by members of the Freshmen Mentor student program. At left, co-chairs of the 1964 Cranston West 50th reunion committee, Cathi Corrente and Dianne Golini, and the senior co-captains of the Freshman Mentors, Allie Connell and Autumn Cardente, share a moment after the tour of the high school.
