The fifth-grade students at Chester Barrows Elementary School turned the tables on Channel 12 sportscaster Mark Dondero when he visited as part of Reading Week last week. After Dondero read a book about the famous New York Yankees baseball player Joe DiMaggio, the students asked Dondero a wide variety of questions that they had prepared in the days prior to his visit. The questions included inquiries as to where he has worked prior to his arrival on Channel 12 (Georgia and Mississippi), where he went to college (Bryant University, where he played baseball), whether or not he has met Tom Brady (he has), and the types of things he likes to do for fun (golf, swimming, reading non-fiction, and playing with his two year-old daughter.) After the read-aloud and student-run interviews, Dondero posed with both fifth-grade classes. (Herald photo by Jen Cowart)
