Suspects sought in home invasion

A pair of suspects are being sought after an armed home invasion in the city’s Arlington neighborhood on Friday night.

The incident took place at 10 p.m. at 116 Wales St., according to police. Two male assailants are said to have entered the home, demanded money and attacked the resident, described as a 36-year-old woman, who was at home with her two autistic children, ages 7 and 11.

The woman told police one of the intruders surprised her and struck her from behind with a firearm. She was then dragged through the home by one of the suspects looking for money, according to police, while the second intruder held the children in the living room.

The woman told police the suspects fled without taking anything. Detectives believe the home was targeted.

One of the suspects is described as a Hispanic man standing approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium build. The second is described only as a light-skinned male. Both are said to have worn gray hooded sweatshirts with dark pants.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call 401-942-2211. Detectives Daniel Dempsey and Lee Sohn are investigating.
