(Confusing, violent spy movie)
Pierce Brosnan stars as ex-CIA agent Peter Devereaux, called back into service for one final mission: protecting a beautiful, young witness. There are the usual car chases, explosions, moles, kidnappings and, of course, the final showdown.
Devereaux can trust no one, even himself, as the audience tries to figure out who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. The reality is, there are no good guys. But there are bad guys who just may do one good deed. I mean, Bracey shoots an innocent kid and Devereaux slices an innocent woman's artery.
The action involves the Americans and the Russians, all with secrets and hit lists.
Luke Bracey plays Devereaux's former partner and friend who is ordered to kill him. The body count is high, but the two old friends never get around to eliminating each other.
Even though the plot is confusing and at times incredulous, it does manage to hold your interest, even though you are not sure who to root for or why. If you are a fan of the genre, the movie will entertain you for an hour and three quarters, as there is enough action and violence to meet the spy movie quota.
Rated a big R, with lots of bloody violence, sex, profanity and nudity.
