The Providence Gridiron Club recently held its annual MVP night at the Quonset O Club.
The club welcomed high school football teams throughout Rhode Island and awarded two players, one from the offensive side of the ball and another from defense, for their performances this past season. Cranston East MVP’s were quarterback Rayven DeOliveira for offense and Hector Duran for defense.
DeOliveira cemented his place as one of the top athletes in all of Rhode Island, and gave opposing defenses fits with his dual ability from under center. Duran, a senior, was one of the biggest leaders on the Bolts’ sidelines this past season, and was one of the top linebackers in all of Division I.
