Lisi earns Hard Hat Award

Rhode Island College gave out the inaugural Freshman Leadership Hard Hat Awards at the annual fall sports awards night at the Quonset Officers club.

Each fall sports team carried the Hard Hat this season as a symbol of their commitment to hard work and dedication. At the end of the season, the award is presented to the freshman on the team who best exemplifies what it means to be a RIC student-athlete by their conduct, leadership and dedication throughout the season.

Here are this year’s award recipients:

Women’s Tennis

Freshman Jenna Lisi (Cranston) was named the Little East Player and Rookie of the Year, First Team All-LEC in both singles and doubles and the Most Outstanding Player of the Little East Championship.

Women’s Soccer

Freshman midfielder Alexandra Amore (Saunderstown) played in 15 games, starting eight of them. Amore scored a team-high five goals to go with two assists this season for 12 points.

Women’s Volleyball

Freshman defensive specialist Aubrey St. Onge (Tilton, NH) played in 83 sets in 24 matches. She finished the season with 87 (1.05/set) and 15 service aces.

Men’s Golf

Freshman William Niles (Warwick) saw action in seven events this fall, averaging a score of 83.9. He shot a season-low score of 76 at the Brett Williamson Invitational on Sept. 19.

Women’s Golf

Freshman Isabella Martin (Portsmouth) saw action in three events this fall, averaging a score of 126.2. She shot a season-low score of 118 in the second round of the Husson Invitational on Sept. 22.
