Angelina Nardolillo (Hinsdale, N.H.) scored 10 points and hauled in eight rebounds as No. 3 Rhode Island College defeated Plymouth State, 72-25, in Little East women’s basketball action played at The Murray Center on Saturday afternoon.
A three-point shot by graduate student guard Sophia Guerrier (Waltham, Mass.) capped off a dominant first quarter for the Anchorwomen, which gave the hosts a 17-4 lead after the first 10 minutes of play.
Guerrier would score seven more points in the second quarter. Fifth-year guard Olivia Middleton (Barrington, R.I.) would knock down a three-pointer as time expired to give RIC a 38-14 lead going into halftime.
The bench came to life in the second half, with sophomore forward Claire Greene (Storrs, Conn.) and junior forward Maggie Schwab (Saunderstown, R.I.) scoring seven and eight points, respectively.
The 25 points scored by Plymouth State was the fewest allowed by RIC all season.
