The spring high school sports season is underway and a handful of Cranston teams have begun their regular season slates.

BASEBALL
La Salle 10, West 1
The Falcons dropped their season opener on the road to La Salle on Monday
Dante Piscopiello scored the team’s lone run as Chris Barboza knocked him in to record the RBI. Barboza also recorded three strikeouts on the mound for West.
SOFTBALL
East 4, Tiverton 2
The Bolts won their opener as they look to return to the Division II playoffs.
Jaeda Viveiros led the way for East, going 2-for-4 with three RBI at the plate while Leanna Garcia knocked in the team’s other run. Freshman Isabella Sousa tossed a complete game for the Bolts, picking up a whopping 13 strikeouts and allowing just one earned run.
