Police are seeking a suspect who brandished a firearm during a recent robbery at a local gas station.
According to a statement from Cranston Police, the male suspect entered the Mobil station at 1282 Elmwood Ave. at approximately 4 a.m. on May 9. The man’s face was covered, and he is said to have pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded the money from the register. The man then fled the scene on foot, heading south on Elmwood Avenue, with $200 in cash.
Police have circulated images of the suspect taken from surveillance footage. Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Robert Santagata at 477-5169 or 942-2211. Tips may also be submitted anonymously through the department’s website, cranstonpoliceri.com.
