Tag Sale Treasures hosting `Helping the Homeless Day' fundraiser

On Saturday, Nov. 9, Tag Sale Treasures owner Amy Conn will be holding a fundraiser to help support those less fortunate in the community.

At the event, attendees will be able to donate winter clothing such as gloves, hats and scarves and receive $5 off an oracle or tarot card reading, according to the fundraiser flyer. According to Conn, the clothing donations will be passed along to a woman she met who collects them and distributes them to the homeless.

“She had a goal for so many pairs,” Conn said. “So I thought if I can help her collect hats, gloves and socks, I’ll pass them to her and she will know where to distribute them.”

She also said that she knows another woman who creates art and sells it in order to raise funds for the homeless and also makes bagged lunches to pass out to them.

“It’s good to see people doing something without an agenda,” she said. “Just doing it to be kind.”

Conn said she is not asking for cash donations, except for the raffle that will be held and for the bake sale. She said attendees can donate a pair of gloves, socks or a hat. She added that she will “see what [they] get.”

Conn said Seaglass and Sage, a shop next to Tag Sale Treasures, will be at the event doing readings, along with Chelsea from Inside Out Healing in North Kingstown. Kim Hogan is another reader who will be in attendance, according to Conn. She added that JK Bakes is making the baked goods for the sale.

“I’ve met so many kind generous people through fundraising,” Conn said. “It’s truly fantastic [and] I can’t thank everyone enough.”

The event is being held on Nov. 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tag Sale Treasures, located at 2154 Broad St. in Cranston.
