Nadine Ann (Ferrante) Beirne, 71, of Warwick, passed away in her sleep on Friday, September 15, 2023. Nadine was born on October 20, 1951, to the late Emma N. (Piacitelli) Ferrante and the late Michael G. Ferrante. She graduated from St. Charles High School and graduated from Rhode Island College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Teaching was always Nadine’s passion, and her career in early childhood education spanned 4 decades. Nadine taught at St. Benedict’s School from 1974-1986 followed by teaching at St. Peter’s School until 2001 where she established the school’s extended day program. Nadine continued to work in education as both a daycare provider and a tutor following her work in the classroom. Nadine’s work beyond the classroom included curriculum development, building seminars for other educators on a national level, and volunteering on many political campaigns. An avid antiquer, she also worked in consignment, happy to point local film crews to items that would be perfect for their set.

In addition to living in Warwick, Nadine lived in Pawtuxet Village in Cranston. The village is where Nadine lived for most of her adult life, and it held a special place for her even after moving back to Warwick. This was where she raised her daughter and made many friends in the community. If you knew Nadine, you knew her kindness and generosity, if you were her student, you knew her to be nurturing, supportive, and patient. If you were a part of her family, you knew her creativity, style, and love.

Nadine is survived by her daughter, Deanna M. Beirne of Boston, MA and her cat Louise. Nadine was the sister of the late Mike J. Ferrante.

Nadine’s Funeral was held on Tuesday September 26, 2023. Please visit www.BarretandCotter.com for online condolences.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nadine’s name may be made to St. Peter School, 120 Mayfair Road, Warwick, RI 02888.
