ELECTION NOTICE CITY OF CRANSTON

LAST DAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE IS SUNDAY, AUGUST 6, 2023*

The Cranston Board of Canvassers, located in Cranston City Hall, Room 100, 869 Park Ave, Cranston, RI, will be open to accept voter registrations and address changes on Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Any resident who is not already a registered voter and wishes to vote in the Cranston City Council Ward 6 Special Primary election being held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023* must register by the deadline of August 6, 2023 to be eligible to vote in that primary election. The deadline for registered voters to submit a change in their party affiliation or disaffiliate from their current political party is also on Sunday, August 6, 2023. New registrations, updates, and party changes may be submitted online at vote.ri.gov until midnight on the deadline date.

*If a primary election is deemed to be unnecessary due to the number of declared party candidates, there will be no primary voter registration deadline, and City Hall will not be open on August 6.

MAIL BALLOT APPLICATION DEADLINE

Any registered voter wishing to vote by mail-in ballot in the September 5, 2023 Cranston City Council Ward 6 Special Primary election must submit a mail ballot application to the Cranston Board of Canvassers, located in Cranston City Hall, Room 100, 869 Park Ave, Cranston, RI, no later than 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. MAIL BALLOT DROP BOXES

There are two mail ballot drop boxes in the City of Cranston which will be open starting August 16 to receive completed mail ballots in their oath and/or mailing envelopes:

Cranston City Hall – 869 Park Ave (Side entrance of the building, next to Cranston East)

RI Board of Elections – 2000 Plainfield Pike (Parking lot at Sailor Way entrance)

Any completed Rhode Island mail ballot can be placed in any official Board of Elections Mail Ballot Drop Box, statewide, no later than 8 p.m. on Election Night. Mail Ballots may also be received during normal business hours in the Canvassing Authority office, Room 100 at Cranston City Hall.
