The Cranston Fall Festival, organized by the Cranston Police Community Outreach Division and Debbie Wood, of We Be Jammin’, was postponed due to the awful weather found itself with the first dry on Sunday the state has had in a while. The festival went off without a hitch and brought together vendors, entertainers and activities from sources statewide to help raise money for the city and the community outreach work done by the Cranston Police Department.
Set up from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the festival gave families from all over the city, and state, a chance to come together and enjoy a day outside after dealing with rain for what felt like weeks straight.
“The size of the festival is, of course, decided by your location and the logistics of it, like how many streets you can afford to close down,” said Wood while explaining there were 150 vendors scheduled to be at the festival last Sunday. “There will be a DJ playing and live music.”
Children were able to enjoy a host of costumed character friends, balloon animals, face painting and a variety of inflatable fun that even included a mechanical bull to ride. (Photos by Steve Popiel)
