Johnny Depp starred in Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.”

Mousie’s in Warwick’s Gateway Plaza is still going strong. Back then a liverwurst sandwich with chopped onions on an onion roll was $3.15 and a James Woods (Turkey, onions, sliced egg and Russian dressing was $4.40.

J.P. Spoonem’s in Edgewood was celebrating its 22nd anniversary. We miss Joe’s corned beef hash.

We also miss Michael Quigley’s and Becky Dupois’ Mr. Peabody’s in Pawtuxet Village. Morgan’s Fancy occupied the site before them.

Lynn Collinson and Marilyn Meardon, Jim Sullivan, Joanne Fayan and Tom Roberts starred in 2nd Story Theatre’s Short Attention Span Theatre.

Lemongrass opened in Warwick. We’ve been enjoying their Crispy Por and Shrimp Lemongrass ever          since.

“Chicago” was at Theatre-by-the-Sea.

40 Years Ago

Buddy Hacket, Gordon Lightfoot, Debbie Reynolds, Donny and Marie, The Osmond Brothers, The Righteous Brothers, Tom Jones, Mickey Gilley, Sandler and Young, and Kool and the Gang were at the Warwick Musical Theatre.

“Annie” was at Theatre-by-the-Sea.

“Billie Bishop Goes to War” was at Trinity Summer Theatre.  “The Twin Menaechmi” was at Brown Summer Theatre.

John Travolta reprised his role as tony Manero from “Saturday Night Fever” in “Staying Alive.”  Burt Reynolds played a race driver in “Stroker Ace.”

Twenty Munchkins at Dunkin Donuts cost a buck.

The Rocky Hill Fair returned to East Greenwich.

The Bay Queen had a luncheon cruise every Wednesday for $11.75.

The Ink Spots were at the Dutch Inn in Galilee.

Kaleidoscope Theatre presented “Aladdin”

 at the Warwick Musical Theatre, starring Joey Pizzi of Cranston.
