Notable Works Publication and Distribution Co. Inc.,(www.notableworks.org), a Cranston-based nonprofit arts organization, will be celebrating Earth Day with a virtual Earth Day celebration, which will premiere via zoom on Thursday, April 22, at 7 p.m.
This event was made possible in part by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. Special guest Tina Cane, Poet Laureate of Rhode Island, will open the program, which will feature some of the poets who contributed their great work to two recent Notable Works’ publications – “Voices of the Earth: The Future of Our Planet,” volumes one and two – addressing the issue of climate change.
Featured poets include Aubrey Atwater, Janet Barron of Warwick, David Dragone, Noreen Inglesi of Cranston, Thomas Lane, Sarah Lettes, Karina Lutz and Patricia McAlpine of Warwick).
Also included in this program will be an interview by Karina Lutz with Priscilla De La Cruz, president of the Environment Council of Rhode Island, and a special presentation by Alicia Lehrer, executive director of theWoonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC).
This program will also include a premiere of the song and presentation entitled “All Pitching In Makes A Difference,” written by Cranston’s Notable Works’ Artist in Residence Noreen Inglesi, which highlights the efforts of Woonsasquatucket River Watershed Council.
