To the Editor:
Members of The Village at Waterman Lake’s Chalet Garden Club experienced a moment of unexpected generosity and humanity this week! As we attempted to cash out at Al's Greenhouse on Plainfield Pike in Cranston, the gentleman who cashed out before us appeared to think twice before leaving the greenhouse. Then, handing his credit card back to the cashier, unbeknownst to us, he paid for our purchase!
As we tried to thank him, he waved it away whispering that he was just “paying it forward.” We will no doubt think of him again and again throughout the season, as we plant and tend to the $200 worth of veggies and flowers he so kindly purchased on our behalf! So grateful!
Karlene Hogan,
Chalet Activities Director
The Village at Waterman Lake
