SHOPLIFTING

At 2:56 p.m. on Jan. 7, Cranston Police arrested Robert Cardoza, 52, of 72 Cambridge St., Worcester, MA, on charges of Shoplifting and Conspiracy as the result of a shoplifting call at Stop & Shop on Garfield Avenue. Cardoza was arraigned and released.

At 2:56 p.m. on Jan. 7, Cranston Police arrested Kelly Valdez, 57, of 72 Cambridge St., Worcester, MA, on charges of Shoplifting and Conspiracy as the result of a shoplifting call at Stop & Shop on Garfield Avenue. Valdez was arraigned and released.


EMBEZZLEMENT

At 5:55 p.m. on Jan. 7, Cranston Police arrested Gerkahren Dowdy, 19, of 15 Lincoln Park Ave., Cranston, on charges of Embezzlement (five counts) as the result of an embezzlement call at Walmart on Plainfield Pike. Dowdy was arraigned and released.


PROTECTIVE ORDER VIOLATION

At 1:59 a.m. on Jan. 7, Cranston Police arrested Jonathan Croce, 41, of 978 Tiogue Ave., Coventry, on charges of Violation of a Protective Order. The arrest was the result of the West Greenwich Police Department transferring over to CPD custody based on an Arrest and Affidavit Warrant. Croce awaited arraignment.

OFFICER OBSTRUCTION

At 3 a.m. on Jan. 6, Cranston Police arrested Ricardo Lambert, 18, of 19 Hawthorne St., Roxbury, MA, on charges of Obstructing an Officer. The arrest was the result of a car stop at Cumberland Farms on Reservoir Avenue. Lambert awaited arraignment.


MALICIOUS INJURY OF PROPERTY

At 10:28 a.m. on Jan. 5, Cranston Police arrested Yoan Pena Ramos, 25, of 34 Heath St., Providence, on charges of Malicious Injury of Property, Disorderly Conduct and Simple Assault (two counts), after an investigation of an incident that occurred at the Subway on Cranston Street. Ramos was transported to Third District Court for arraignment.


DUI

The Rhode Island State Police (RISP) announced troopers made 13 DUI arrests over the New Year’s Holiday Weekend. During the course of the New Year’s holiday weekend, the State Police report that 13 individuals were arrested for Driving Under the Influence, according to a press release. State Troopers said they also investigated 54 motor vehicle crashes and issued 424 summons for traffic violations.

At 1:35 a.m. on Jan. 7, Cranston Police arrested Raymond Borden, 56, of 501 Reservoir Ave., Apt. 9, Cranston, on charges of DUI – BAC of .15/greater (readings of .162 and .158). The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle accident in the area of Ocean Avenue and Narragansett Boulevard. Borden awaited arraignment as a probation violator.

At 7 p.m. on Jan. 6, Cranston Police arrested Jill Nystrom, 40, of 430 Meshanticut Valley Parkway, Apt. 16, Cranston, on charges of DUI – BAC Unknown (one count, first offense). The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle accident in the area of 444 Meshanticut Valley Parkway. Nystrom was held for arraignment and is currently at Rhode Island Hospital. He is a bail violator.

At 9:26 p.m. on Jan. 5, Cranston Police arrested Lei Chaoming, 54, of 225 62nd St., Apt. 1, Brooklyn, NY, on charges of DUI as a result of an erratic operator call on Hope and Pippin Orchard. Chaoming is currently at Kent Hospital and given a release to appear.

At 3:57 a.m. on Jan. 2, Cranston Police arrested Ronny Nova, 36, of 24 Forsythia Lane, Cranston, on charges of DUI – BAC Unknown (first offense). The arrest was the result of a call for service at 732 Dyer Ave. Nova awaited arraignment.


DISORDERLY CONDUCT

At 3:10 p.m. on Jan. 5, Cranston Police arrested Travys Barros, 34, of 9 Colfax St., Providence, on charges of Disorderly Conduct as a result of a disturbance call in the parking lot of CPD headquarters. Barros was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace and released.

At 3:10 p.m. on Jan. 5, Cranston Police arrested Edwin Gomez, 33, of 319 Academy Ave., Apt. 1, on charges of Disorderly Conduct as a result of a disturbance call in the parking lot of CPD headquarters. Gomez was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace and released.


WILLFUL TRESPASS

At 4:55 p.m. on Jan. 5, Cranston Police arrested Malieke Young, 28, of 128 Linwood St., Providence, on charges of Domestic Willful Trespass as a result of a disturbance call 79 Warwick Ave., Apt. 1. Young was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace and transported to the ACI as a violator.


WARRANT

At 7:44 p.m. on Jan. 7, Cranston Police arrested Kaci-Ann Munoz, 43, of 26 Alto St., Cranston, on a Cranston Warrant of Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct as the result of previous incident. Munoz was arraigned and released.

At 7:44 p.m. on Jan. 7, Cranston Police arrested Angel Collins, 20, of 26 Alto St., Cranston, on a Cranston Warrant of Disorderly Conduct as the result of a previous incident. Collins was arraigned and released.

At 12:59 a.m. on Jan. 5, Cranston Police arrested Franciso Garcia, 23, of 52 Towanda Drive, North Providence, on a Superior Court Bench Warrant. The arrest was the result of a car stop on Reservoir and Park Avenue. Garcia was transported to the ACI.

At 7:14 a.m. on Jan. 4, Cranston Police arrested Alexander Jerez Mercado, 29, of 59 Bellevue Ave., Apt. 2, Providence, on a Cranston Police Department Arrest and Affidavit Warrant for Vandalism. The arrest was the result of Mercado turning himself in at headquarters. Mercado was transported to Third District Court for arraignment.

At 4:56 p.m. on Jan. 3, Cranston Police arrested Alexandra Pontarelli, 28, of 5 Tarragon Drive, Johnston, on an Outstanding Arrest Warrant issued by the West Warwick Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Randall Street and Kingwood Street. Pontarelli was transferred over to the West Warwick Police Department.


ASSAULT

At 10:49 p.m. on Jan. 6, Cranston arrested Adreanna Burt, 27, of 45 Phenix Ridge Drive, Cranston, on charges of Domestic Simple Assault, Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Legal or Illegal Arrest. The arrest was the result of a disturbance at 15 Poppy Circle. Burt was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace.

At 2 p.m. on Jan. 7, Cranston Police arrested Kenneth Pierce, 32, of 362 Auburn St., Cranston, on charges of Domestic Simple Assault and Domestic Disorderly Conduct as the result of a disturbance at 362 Auburn St. Pierce was arraigned and released.

At 9:08 a.m. on Jan. 4, Cranston Police arrested Michelle Garnetto, 44, of 142 Chestnut Hill Ave., Apt. 2A, Cranston, on charges of Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the result of a call for a disturbance at 142 Chestnut Hill Ave. Garnetto was transported to Third District Court for arraignment.


SUSPENDED LICENSE

At 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 3, Cranston Police arrested Alan Smith, 66, of 1465 Warwick Ave., Apt. 10, Warwick, on charges of Driving on a Suspended License (Third/Greater). The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of 1710 Broad St. Smith was given a District Court notice to appear.


DISSEMINATION OF INDECENT MATERIAL

At 3:57 a.m. on Jan. 2, Cranston Police arrested Felix Piedade, 29, of 77 Bellevue Ave., Pawtucket, on charges of Domestic Unauthorized Dissemination of Indecent Material. The arrest was the result of being turned over to this department by the Pawtucket Police Department on an Arrest and Affidavit Warrant. Piedade awaited arraignment.

VANDALISM

At 11:23 a.m. on Jan. 1, Cranston Police arrested Nathan Melfi, 21, of 38 Judith St., Providence, on charges of Domestic Vandalism and Domestic Disorderly Conduct as the result of a disturbance at 39 Harris Ave. Melfi awaited arraignment.

At 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 6, Cranston Police arrested Dylan J. McConaghy, 27, of 273 Knollwood Ave., Cranston, on charges of Vandalism/Malicious Damage (one count) and Disorderly Conduct (one count). The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred at 273 Knollwood Ave. and subsequent follow-up investigation. McConaghy was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.
