To the Editor,
I strongly support Aniece Germain for reelection as Cranston City Councilor in Ward 2.
I’ve known Aniece since 2017, when we met in community improvement meetings. Aniece has always spoken passionately about the values that connect us as a community. She’s always spoken passionately about inclusivity and about equity- opportunities and fairness for families, for women, for the larger community and for minority voices as well.
Aniece has always worked to improve the quality of life for Cranston residents. This sometimes takes the shape of submitting requests for traffic and pedestrian safety, such as stop signs, crosswalks, and one-way streets. These neighborhood projects make a big difference in the lives of her constituents. She continues to strongly advocate for reopening Budlong Pool, one of Cranston's treasures, and she has also recently undertaken efforts to solve the problem of overnight parking in Cranston.
In addition to these neighborhood level projects, Aniece works for our community at the city and state level by speaking out for equitable education, public health, maternal and women’s health, and gun safety, as well as for initiatives recognizing Black History Month, Sickle Cell Month, Diversity Month, National Immigrants Day and others.
Aniece's presence at the State House and her connections with state leaders also benefits her constituents, and benefits all of us in Cranston at the same time.
Her personal story is an inspiration -- and she gets more done in a week than many of us get done in a month!
I could not be more honored to support Councilwoman Aniece Germain, and as a Cranston resident, I also encourage Congressional District 2 residents to vote for Seth Magaziner, as his positions and skillful advocacy in D.C. will complement hers.
