The Wickford Art Association’s annual “animals in art” exhibit, “Fur, Feathers, Fins,” will open at the North Kingstown Beach Street gallery on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021.
“Fur, Feathers, Fins” is an all media, open exhibit, juried for entry and prizes by jurist Betsey MacDonald, an artist who loves animals with a BFA and MFA in studio art. Having completed pre-med programming, Betsey brings a love of science and intimate knowledge of anatomy to her work. She is a juried artist member of the Wickford Art Association and a juried member of the American Academy of Equine Art.
With all works selected through a new online registration system recently launched by Wickford Art Association, “Fur, Feathers, Fins” will be installed in early February with opening receptions on Friday, Feb. 12. (starting at 6:30 p.m. that evening if state of Rhode Island physical distancing restrictions allow) and will be available to the public through March 7, 2021. Prize-winning works will be announced opening night live and through social media.
All work will also be placed online for virtual viewing as well, ensuring its accessibility for the community-at-large. Selected works will be available for post-exhibit viewing and purchase on WAA’s new webstore as well.
